It only takes a small amount of effort
and time to think before you print. Eventually, doing the best thing for the
planet becomes second nature. Meanwhile, before you print off an email, decide
if it could best be filed into a different folder for future reference. Is the
information something you really need for the long term or is it a temporary
requirement that you refer to it? What are you keeping the information for? How
important is it? Is there another way you could deal with this? The answers
will be many and varied, and ultimately it is up to you, but by thinking before
printing you may well be saving a huge amount of resources – trees, water, energy,
transport, landfill, recycling costs, ink and money from your pocket.
