1000 Flowers for the Planet - #191 Install Dual- or Low-Flush Toilets
According to information provided by my
local council, a full toilet flush can use up to 15 litres of water, whereas a half
flush uses less than 6 litres. Most of the time we only need to use a half
flush, which would save 60% of water usage if the full flush was always used.
This is a substantial difference. Water is our most valuable resource and needs
to be used wisely. Install either a dual-flush system and always use the
half-flush when you can, or install a low-flush toilet for a similar result.
Water savings will also reduce your expenses, put less pressure on dams that
support cities and decrease the pressure on our environment to provide us with
water supplies.
